  Neither Heaven nor Earth can tolerate – 中文成语“天地不容”的英译,另一译法可为:Neither God nor Man can forgive。天地指天地之间,即人世间。容是宽容、容许的意思。天地所不能容纳的是大逆不道、罪孽深重的人与事。该成语最早出自汉.袁康《越绝书‧越绝篇叙外传记》:“子谋父,臣杀主,天地所不容载。”明.冯梦龙《醒世恒言》第七卷中也有:“若有苟且,天地不容。”

  Lie through one's teeth(idiom) -

To say things that are not true in a way that seems sincere.(睁眼说瞎话)

  Examples: 1.Tom wasn't a doctor, he had never been to medical school, he just lied through his teeth and we believed him.

  2.He asked me how old I was and, lying through my teeth, I said “21”.

Clown around (phrasal verb) - To act silly; to mess around.

  (扮小丑,卖傻,敷衍)  

  Examples:  1.We were just clowning around. We didn't mean to break anything.

  2.The boys were clowning around with each other.

Play around/about

(with sb/sth)(phrasal verb)

-To behave in a careless way without thinking about the results.(胡闹,玩弄)

  Examples: 1.You can't play around with children's futures like this.

    2.Don’t play around with matches!

Take the bull by the horns(idiom)

-To do something difficult or dangerous in a brave and determined way.(不畏艰险,豁出去)

  Examples:  1.A successful businessman always takes the bull by the horns.

  2.Why don't you take the bull by the horns and tell him to leave?
